Quality & Safety

Food Safety/Quality Programme

At FoodFlo, we take the quality and safety of the products we supply or manufacture very seriously. We run a Quality and Food Safety Programme, which is regularly externally audited against and meets, the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, with an AA grading. This is one of the most stringent Food Safety Standards in the world and demonstrates our commitment to producing top quality safe food products.

Sustainable Palm Oil Policy

As part of our commitment to the protection of the environment, we only use Sustainable Palm Kernel Oil in our products. This means that the plantations are farmed in a sustainable manner with care and consideration for the environment, and the oil is kept strictly segregated throughout the entire production process. We have been an associate member of RSPO since 2013.

Social Responsibility and Sustainability Policy

FoodFlo will adhere to laws of the country in which it operates, including those pertaining to employee health and safety, terms and conditions of employment and the environment. FoodFlo Follow Legislation in respect of gender equality in the workplace. FoodFlo adheres to all Acts, Regulations, and policies as listed in Acts, Regulations, Policies – Appendix 1. As CEO, he is focussed on leading a one-team approach toward outstanding service and quality ingredients that customers have come to expect from FoodFlo. As a strategic thinker, he’s always looking ahead to understand how FoodFlo can best serve our customers with a whole life approach.

Founder and Director

John founded FoodFlo all the way back in 1975. Needing a business to sustain his growing family, he first started manufacturing icing sugar in Palmerston North. There may have been varying product capabilities and locations along the way, but FoodFlo is now a recognised and highly regarded food ingredient partner to many worldwide food brands. John is still deeply involved in the business at strategic management level.

Dale is based in Melbourne and leads our sales team with extensive experience in the FMCG sector. Dale is approachable and always ready to listen. He works closely with customers and our internal team to deliver ingredient solutions that meet all aspects of project briefs. Most importantly though, his collaborative approach facilitates the creation of products that are winners with customers on the shelves.

Marketing Lead and Customer Service Manager

If you've ever called FoodFlo and thought, "wow that lady was friendly", the chances are that you spoke to Jeanie. Handling all-things customer focused, Jeanie is the first point of contact for enquiries and support, as well as coordinating orders. Her close relationship with customers, alongside her creative flair and lateral thinking make Jeanie the true secret ingredient behind our marketing function.

NPD Manager

Rahul came to FoodFlo soon after completing a PhD in Food Technology at the Auckland Institute of Technology (AIT).  He leads the NPD team to deliver requests for new ingredient innovation and technical documentation to customers. Rahul’s knowledge of food science and his better-every-day ethos means customer requests are delivered more efficiently so projects move at the pace our customers require for their success.

Technical Manager

Nishu has more than 15+ years’ experience in technical laboratory and quality roles, as well as a Bachelor’s honours Degree in Biochemistry and a Graduate Diploma in Biotechnology. Her analytical skills and expertise in testing and quality procedures ensures that all ingredients that leave our facility meet strict standards. She is instrumental in overseeing various audits that attest to FoodFlo’s excellent heath and food safety records, and more specific certifications as required.

Jairo joined FoodFlo from another beloved food manufacturer in New Zealand - Pics. He has a wealth of engineering management experience. Since starting at FoodFlo he has taken a more strategic approach to repairs, maintenance and renewals that will ensure continuity and quality of supply.
